Social Media Manager

We're looking for a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic Social Media Manager to join our team. This exciting role calls for a candidate with a limitless passion for social media who can write, edit and optimise posts across myriad platforms – so expertise in using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Instagram Stories is essential. 

The successful candidate will understand the South Asian community audience as well as nurture our growing social following through community management. The position requires a hard-working team player who understands a range of content (Cultural, Empowerment, Business, Community, Art, Events) and its place within the South Asian Community as well as mainstream audiences, and thus has an intuitive sense of how to maximise the brand’s digital potential.

Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • To manage the Asian Woman Festival channels across social (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube)

  • Organic content creation and scheduling, alongside community management

  • Creation of other media assets, such as videos and gifs

  • Developing a monthly content calendar

  • Measure, analyse and report on organic and paid activity 

 

Essential:

  • Thorough working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

  • Experience with creating both organic social and paid ads (Facebook Ads Manager)

  • Excellent copywriting skills, with an eye for detail

  • Design skills, with an ability to edit and create images and short videos

  • Strong understanding of social analytics tools

  • Interest in event marketing and the Asian Woman Festival community 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to work under pressure (in the run-up to the festival, otherwise we promise it's very calm!)

Desirable:

  • An awareness of other and emerging social media platforms (Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn)

  • PR/communications experience 

  • Understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro
